Regal Entertainment Group May Merge With Cineworld Group
Author By Sophia VidaPosted on According to people familiar with the matter, billionaire Philip Anschultz’ controlled Regal Entertainment Group could be merging with Cineworld Group Plc.
If the deal happens it would create a bigger international rival to AMC Entertainment Holdings Inc., the industry leader.
According to the unidentified sources, the two companies are working with advisors and are in private discussions.
There is no guarantee that a deal will happen and neither company has commented.
On speculation of the deal, shares of Regal soured almost 17%.
