Netflix Just Made History with This Many Golden Globes Nominations
Streaming giant Netflix made history on Monday as the company received 17 nods in Golden Globes nominations. HBO followed behind with 15 nominations of their own.
The company’s 17 nominations represents the most of any studio and the company also received its first-ever best picture nomination.
The 77th Annual Golden Globe Awards ceremony will air live on NBC from the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles on Sunday, Jan. 5th. The show starts at 5 p.m. PT/8 p.m. ET.
Netflix’s “Marriage Story,” “The Two Popes” and “The Irishman” were all nominated for the drama category and “Dolemite is my Name” received a nod in the musical or comedy category.
Many of the stars in the films “Marriage Story” and “The Irishman” had received nods as well. This includes Scarlett Johansson and Laura Dern for Marriage Story, and Joe Pesci and Al Pacino for The Irishman.
