Meg Whitman, who is leaving Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co. already has a new job lined up.
The famed executive will be joining a mobile media firm called NewTV and will become its chief executive.
NewTV belongs to Jeffrey Katzenberg, the co-founder of DreamWorks and has plans to make short form videos for mobile use that have a Hollywood-style. Katzenberg is chairman of the company.
According to GBH Insights analyst Danile Ives, “Getting Meg was a coup as many companies wanted her.” He continued, “This is a change of pace for Meg after stepping down from HP as NewTV and Katzenberg have created a unique business model which has a long runway ahead of it for the coming years.”
Whitman had been reported before to be a candidate for Uber’s head role but that went to Dara Khosrowshahi.
Whitman will begin her new role at NewTV on March 1st.
