McDonald’s May Be About to Enter the Chicken Sandwich War

Posted on

Popeye’s and Wendy’s are having their nice little chicken sandwich war and who comes along to join it? McDonald’s. The king of all fast food.

McDonald’s is testing a Crispy Chicken Sandwich in Houston and Knoxville, Tennessee which features a fried chicken filet served on a buttery potato roll, topped with butter and pickles. A deluxe version also includes tomatoes, lettuce and mayo.

The chain teased the test over the weekend, which will run from December 2nd all the way to January 26th.
“Houston. Knoxville. Lunch tomorrow? No beef,” McDonald’s tweeted.

The chain’s franchisees have asked for a Southern-style chicken sandwich as Chick-fil-A’s threat to their business grows.

The board of the National Owners Association had wrote in an email in July that a chicken sandwich should be their top priority.

Well it looks like it is now.
