This Huge Executive Could Be Uber’s New CEO

Since Uber’s ex-CEO Travis Kalanick resigned last month, many have wondered who would take on the position. The company is hopeful in adding a leader to the company by early September.

According to two employees, there are less than six CEO candidates. According to the two sources, who wish to remain unidentified, the company’s head of human resources Liane Hornsey has told employees that the company could hire someone within six weeks.

One of the sources revealed that one of the candidates is the chief of Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co., Meg Whitman. The two sources have said that Whitman had been meeting with the company’s leadership in the last weeks.

How true this is, is unknown. HPE spokesman Howard Clabo wrote in an email, “As Meg has said several times before, she is fully committed to HPE and plans to stay with the company until her work is done.”

Uber declined to comment.
