Fire Breaks Out at Tesla’s Factory in California
There was yet another fire at electric vehicle maker Tesla’s factory in Fremont, California.
The fire broke out on Thursday night around 5:20 p.m. and thankfully no injuries had been reported. The fire is also not expected to impact production.
A Tesla spokesperson said, “Some cardboard and shipping materials being prepared for recycling on our southern fence line caught fire, along with a small patch of grass next to a Tesla parking lot. We would like to thank the Fremont Fire Department for their rapid response.”
The fire had took place outside, near a tent on the south side of Tesla’s property and was away from the main facilities where cars are assembled and painted.
According to KTVU, the fire had engulfed the surrounding area in smoke but was contained in 30 minutes.
The local Fremont Fire Department had put the outdoor fire out and had tweeted during the incident, “Initial reports are fire started in a cardboard pile, threatening an outside structure and now started a small grass fire. We have resources on scene and are taking action.”
CEO Elon Musk was quicky on the scene and wrote on social media, “Cardboard being prepped for recycling along southern fence line caught fire. Super appreciate fast response by Fremont fire dept!”
It was just this past April that Tesla experienced another fire that had temporarily halted the company’s production.
The Fremont factory homes around 10,000 employees.
