Fiat Chrysler (FCAU) Is Recalling More Than 224,000 Suvs

If you own a 2016 Jeep Wrangler SUV, you may want to pay attention. Fiat Chrysler is recalling more than 224,000 Jeep Wrangler SUV’s all across the world because the air bags might not inflate during a crash. The recall is for certain 2016 and 2017 vehicles, but the company says none of the 2017 models have been sold yet.

According to Fiat Chrysler in government documents, wiring to a sensor can come loose, cutting off signals to an air bag computer. If these signals are cut off, the seat belt pretensioners won’t work and the air bags will not deploy.

The company has said nobody has been hurt and there have been no complaints. Company crash tests revealed the problem and although repairs are not ready yet, owners will be notified when to set up a service appointment to reroute the wiring. The repair will be at no cost for the owner.
