Facebook Suspended Roughly 200 Apps for This Reason

Given the scandal that Facebook has been involved with regarding Cambridge Analytica and the data of many of its users, the social network giant has suspended around 200 apps.

The company suspended the apps in the first stage of its review into apps that have had access to large quantities of the platform’s users’ data.

Ime Archibong, the company’s vice president of product partnerships has said that the apps were suspending pending a thorough investigation into whether the apps have misused any data.

“There is a lot more work to be done to find all the apps that may have misused people’s Facebook data – and it will take time,” Archibong further commented.

“We have large teams of internal and external experts working hard to investigate these apps as quickly as possible.”

To date, Facebook has already looked into thousands of apps since CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced the company’s investigation back on March 21st.
