According to Facebook, the number of users affected by the Cambridge Analytica scandal are higher than 50 million.

The social networking site announced this week that the actual number is now as many as 87 million people, with most of the users from the United States.

The data of these usyers may have been improperly shared with Cambridge Analytica, and may have played some part in how people may have voted in the 2016 presidential election.

Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook’s CEO, agreed last week that he would testify before The House Energy and Commerce Committee. Yesterday the executive said in a call with reporters, “It’s clear now that we didn’t do enough at preventing abuse. We didn’t take a broad enough view of what our responsibilities were. That was a huge mistake. It was my mistake.”

He also remarked, “Knowing what I know today, we should’ve done more and we will.”

“I wish that I could snap my fingers and in three months or six months have solved these issues,” he said.

Zuckerberg will testify on April 11th in person. There will also be a joint hearing with the Senate Judiciary and Commerce committees on April 10th.
