Elon Musk Smokes Weed on Camera Sending Shares Crashing

There is no end to the headlines that Tesla keeps producing in recent months.

The stock has been on a roller coaster all year over production goals, analysts remarks, and CEO Elon Musk’s eccentric behavior.

It was just days ago that Musk called someone a child rapist and just the other day that Citron Research’s Andrew Left decided to sue the company and Musk for manipulating the company’s stock price by issuing materially false and misleading information. This is in regards to Musk tweeting last month that he wanted to take the company private and had secured funding, which many on Wall Street questioned.

Tesla shares were on the decline on Friday again after it was revealed that a pair of C-suite executives at the company had resigned and a video of Musk smoking weed on a podcast surfaced.

The company’s chief accounting officer, Dave Morton, has resigned after only a month with Tesla. He cited intense public attention. “Since I joined Tesla on August 6, the level of public attention placed on the company, as well as the pace within the company, have exceeded my expectations. As a result, this caused me to reconsider my future.”

HR chief, Gaby Toledano, has also resigned according to a Bloomberg report. She will not return from the leave of absence she took last month, Bloomberg said.

It was last Thursday that Musk appeared on Joe Rogan’s podcast and smoked marijuana and sipped whiskey during the appearance.

[This is] the behavior of a man who should not be running a public company,” Jim Cramer said on “Squawk on the Street.”

Cramer said the morning after Musk’s appearance, “I don’t think anyone should be in a situation where there are companies completely under a cloud, where he is completely under a cloud and he does something that I regard as being unstable.”

On Morton resigning on Friday, Cramer said it was “such a red flag.”

Tesla shares are now 30% off of their all-time high.
