Dunkin Donuts Employee was Fired for Doing This to a Homeless Man

Well, this certainly isn’t good publicity for Dunkin’ Donuts.

Dunkin’ Donuts, which recently announced that it would be dropping the donuts from its name, has fired an employee at one of its locations for pouring water on a resting homeless man.

The incident took place in Syracuse, New York and a video of it was posted onto Facebook. Needless to say, it quickly went viral.

In the video, Jeremy Dufresne is sleeping at a corner table of the establishment as he waits for his phone to charge. An employee then approaches him and pours water on his head. He says to the homeless man, “How many times do I have to tell you to stop sleeping in here?” Another employee is heard in the background laughing.

Dufresne then jumps to his feet, unplugs his phone, and leaves the store, all while looking shaken up by the incident.

The video quickly had almost 2 million views with many of the viewers upset at the employee’s actions. One woman on social media posted, “Fire him! I’m done with Dunkin Donuts if they treat people like this. You don’t know that mans hardships. No employee should ever do this, this is beyond sickening and I hope they fired him,” another added.

The homeless man himself spoke to Syracuse.com and said, “He probably had some personal problems of his own and needed someone to talk to and he took it out on someone else, like me.”

A GoFundMe page has been started to help Dufresne get back on his feet by Samuel Breazeale, the man who posted the footage of the incident to social media.
