Disney+ Experiences Technical Errors on Its First Day
The anticipation is finally over. After months and months of waiting, Disney launched its streaming service Disney+ on Tuesday, offering a world of classic Disney moves and Star Wars for fans to start watching.
The first day didn’t go exactly as expected as the streaming service suffered some technical errors just hours into launch day.
Many users took to Twitter to complain that they were given an error message on their screen that read “unable to connect.” The message, which appears underneath characters from “Wreck-It Ralph,” would force users to exit the service and to try to reconnect at a later time.
Other users said they had a hard time finding the Disney+ app in Apple’s App store.
As of 7:00 a.m. EST, there had already been roughly 7,300 reports of problems with Disney+, according to Downdetector.
The company had said it was “working quickly” to resolve the service outages an dusers in Puerto Rico were told they have to wait another week for the service, despite the launch originally set for November 12th.
The service will now roll out in Puerto Rico on Nov. 19. Disney+ was slated to launch Nov. 19 in New Zealand and Australia, with “full availability in the U.S.” on Nov. 12.
“The consumer demand for Disney+ has exceeded our highest expectations,” the spokesperson said. “While we are pleased by this incredible response, we are aware of the current user issues and are working to swiftly resolve them. We appreciate your patience.”
