Apple’s Mac Pro Is Finally Getting An Overhaul

Posted on

It has been years since Apple’s Mac Pro got an update. Finally the company is doing something about it.

Speaking to a small gathering of news outlets that included BuzzFeed, TechCrunch, and Daring Fireball, Apple revealed that a new Mac Pro model is coming!

The tech giant admitted that the 2013 Mac Pro redesign was a mistake. “I think we designed ourselves into a bit of a thermal corner, if you will,” one of Apple’s top executives reportedly said.

Apple is planning to do more than accommodate “professional users” this time and is working to overhaul the computer.

It won’t be until 2018 the earliest until we see the end result, but there are some other things to look forward to as well.

The company has already released a refreshed version of the Mac Pro and is planning to release a separate computer that is aimed for professional users later this year. It will be a “pro” version of the iMac desktop.

Apple’s senior vice president of marketing, Phil Schiller said, “We have big plans for the iMac. We’re going to begin making configurations of iMac specifically with the pro customer in mind.”

The new iMac wont even have a touchscreen. “Touch doesn’t even register on the list of things pro users are interested in talking about,” he said. “They’re interested in things like performance and storage and expandability.”

No details yet on what the name will be.
