Apple Is Opening Its Anticipated Flying Saucer Campus In April
All we’ve had are pictures so far of the Steve Jobs inspired ring-shaped campus that Apple has been building.
The former CEO’s last public event in 2011 was at a city council meeting in Cupertino California, where he presented his plans for a new campus that had a spaceship shape with a tree filled park. Jobs died just four months after this presentation.
The tech giant just announced this week that the 2.9 million square foot campus would be opening in April and employees would start moving in. The first employees woulld move into what the company calls Apple Park, and in the next six months after, more employees will follow.
“Steve’s vision for Apple stretched far beyond his time with us,” Apple Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook said in a statement. “He intended Apple Park to be the home of innovation for generations to come.”
