Apple Just Announced When its Digital-Only Event Will Be
Tech giant Apple revealed this week that it will be announcing new products on September 15th at its digital-only event.
Given how the iPhone maker has typically revealed its new phones at its headquarters in September, many are expecting new phones to be released this month but Apple has said the phones will come later.
It is expected that Apple will however reveal an Apple Watch Series 6 and iPads at the event. The invitation sent from the company to the press says “Time Flies” on it, which may suggest that the watch will make an appearance.
The latest watchOS 7 software supports sleep tracking and will be available for current Apple Watches and according to rumors it may also detect blood-oxygen saturation.
According to reports, Apple will also announce a new iPad Air that looks more like an iPad Pro, with a screen that runs from edge to edge. This may not happen until another event in October however.
The event starts at 10 a.m. PT. Apple didn’t provide any additional details but will likely stream it online, as it usually does.
Apple is also expected to release two “regular” iPhone 12 models this year as well as two iPhone 12 Pro models. The new design of the phone is said to be similar to 2010’s iPhone 4 according to leading Apple analyst at TF Interantional Securities, Ming-Chi-Kuo.
Screen sizes include a 5.4-inch model, two with 6.1-inch screens and a big model with a 6.7-inch display, said Kuo. The analyst also said that Apple won’t include headphones or a charger in the box. Kuo additionally has said the new iPhone models will support next-generation 5G networks.
Apple became the first U.S. company this year to hit a $2 trillion market cap.
