Apple is Launching its Own Credit Card this Summer

Apple had a lot of things to unveil at its event in Cupertino, California on Monday.
One thing that got many people excited was a new Apple credit card that the company is launching with Goldman Sachs.

The card is expected to come this summer and you can sign up directly on an iPhone and get a usable digital card right away. The card can be used directly from the Wallet app of the phone.

“While we all need them, there’s some things about the credit card experience that could be so much better,” said CEO Tim Cook. The company’s goal is to offer interest rates that are “among the lowest in the industry.”

Through its partnership with Goldman Sachs and Mastercard, the Apple Card will be able to be used around the world. Many are thrilled to know that the Apple Card will have no late fees, no annual fees, no international fees, or over-limit fees.

Apple Card completely changes the credit card experience and is built to help customers lead a healthier financial life,” said Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon. “We’re excited to partner with Apple on this card, which is designed to be truly on the side of the customer.”

“This partnership is a major step in the growth of our consumer franchise, furthering our vision to create the leading digital consumer platform,” he added.

Cook also announced a subscription gaming service called Apple Arcade, a new streaming service called Apple TV Channels, and a subscription news service called Apple News+ (in which Vox is participating).
