Apple Introduces New iPad at $299 For Students
Tech giant Apple announced on Tuesday its latest iPads that will serve the student market.
Apple introduced a new 9.7″ iPad for $329 and is an update to Apple’s base iPad that was released last March and also cost $329. The iPad will be sold to students and schools at a cost of $299 and pre-order became available today.
According to the company’s Vice President of Product Marketing Greg Joswiak, the new iPad is the greatest device ever created for students in the classroom.
The company looks focused on capturing the market from Google’s chromebook which had taken about 60 percent of the U.S. education market, according to analysis firm FutureSource.
Next to the iPad, Apple also introduced updated versions of iWork apps.
