Apple Glasses could Be Bigger Than iPhones
Only three more years to go until Apple will be launching their Apple Glasses in 2020.
According to Loup Ventures’ Gene Munster, this launch could really effect the sale of the tech giant’s iPhones.
Munster has said that Apple’s new glasses will be wearable augmented reality that lets the user view digital content on top of the real world. This is the same information that iPhone users rely on the iPhone for.
He said, “We expect iPhone revenue to grow at 15 percent in FY18 (essential the next iPhone cycle) and account for 64 percent of revenue. We believe tough comps after the next iPhone cycle will have a negative impact on iPhone growth in FY19, and in FY20 we believe Apple Glasses will start to impact iPhone sales.”
The reason for why the glasses could eat at iPhone sales is because the reality glasses could offer users the ability to interact with apps right on their faces. There would be no point to pull the phone out.
He went on, “In 10 years we expect the iPhone will be around, but be a much smaller part of Apple’s business as Apple Glasses slowly gains market adoption.”
While Apple has yet to confirm they are working on these glasses, many Apple fans look to Munster for what he thinks.
