According to Jeffrey Sonnenfeld, an academic, Lester Crown Professor in the Practice of Management at Yale School of Management, it is T-Mobile’s CEO that could be perfect to take over as chief of WeWork.

Sonnenfeld believes T-Mobile’s John Legere would be the ‘perfect guy’ to replace Adam Neumann at WeWork. Neumann announced this week that he is stepping down as CEO following controversy over the company’s governance and valuation.

Sonnenfeld told CNBC that Legere would be a quality replacement for Neumann. He remarked, “John would know how to shape something out of this.”

Sonnenfeld believes Legere would be a good fit due to his relationship with SoftBank Group’s Masayoshi Son, one of WeWork’s biggest investors.

“He’s been very good at revivals and resuscitations,” Sonnenfeld said, referencing to Legere’s tenure at Global Crossing Ltd. Global Crossing Ltd. had suffered a major accounting scandal in the early 2000s.

Wilfred Frost asked if Legere would take the job with Sonnenfeld answering, “I think he shouldn’t, but I think he would.”

“John would know how to shape something out of this,” Sonnenfeld said.

“It would be crazy for Masayoshi Son to not talk John into taking this job,” Sonnenfeld said. “Whatever it takes.”

“John would really know how to do this,” Sonnfenfeld added.
