Woman Dies After Being Shoved Off NYC Subway Platform
You’re standing and minding your business on a New York City subway platform, and the last thing you expect is for someone to shove you from behind and towards your death.
This is what happened to an unsuspecting female victim in New York City on Monday afternoon. She was pushed onto the tracks as a southbound No. 1 train pulled up to the Times Square station around 1 p.m. EST. Bystanders could only watch as she was killed.
Witnesses who saw the murder were able to alert police officers, who then apprehended the suspect in the station.
“What happened here today is tragic,” Joseph Fox, chief of transit for the New York City Police Department, told reporters at the midtown Manhattan subway station, one of city’s largest and busiest.
According to some witnesses, the victim and suspect were involved in a dispute beforehand.
