UPS To Hire 95,000 Seasonal Employees This Holiday Season
The holiday season is slowly approaching and many companies are getting ready for it by preparing to add on more workers during the busy rush.
United Parcel Service is one of those companies, given that many people send packages during the holidays or order gifts online. The company announced on Wednesday that it is expecting to hire around 95,000 seasonal employees this year for the upcoming holiday season.
This is the same amount the company has been hiring each year since 2014. Anywhere up to 35% of those hired to work seasonally have also been hired to become full time employees said the company.
The employees would be needed in November and all the way into January as according to the company, this is when there is an expected increase in package volume.
The peak season starts the day after Thanksgiving on Black Friday and runs into early January when people return merchandise.
Retailers included Target and Macy’s have already announced their holiday hiring plans.
Rival FedEx Corp. has yet to disclose its plans for the holiday season.
