United Airlines Victim Says Dragging Was Worst Than Fleeing Vietnam

The video of a passenger being dragged off of a United Airlines flight has sparked massive outrage across the world.

The passenger. Dr. David Dao, was asked to give up his seat due to an overbooking issue. The doctor refused as he had patients to see the next morning. He was then violently dragged off the plane and suffered both a broken nose and concussion. His attorney Thomas Demetrio, says both United Airlines and the city of Chicago are responsible.

At a press conference Thursday morning, Demetrio says that Dao suffered a significant concussion and a broken nose, lost two front teeth and would need reconstructive surgery after three aviation officers dragged him off a Louisville-bound flight at Chicago’s O’Hare Airport.

Demetrio says that the experience for Dao was worst than when he fleed Vietnam. That says a lot, considering that fleeing from a horrifying country during war is probably one of the most scariest things a person can do.

“We’ll file the suit when our investigative work is done,” said Demetrio when asked when he expected the lawsuit to be filed. “I don’t have a clue when that will be.”

Dr. Dao was released from the hospital late Wednesday night. According to Demetrio, he has no memory of going back on the plane due to the concussion he experienced. Demetrio has said that Dao will eventually speak about what had happened to him.

Dao and his family are not thrilled with United Airline’s CEO Oscar Munoz’s apology and according to the family, it seemed “staged.” They did accept it however with gratitude.

“We continue to express our sincerest apology to Dr. Dao,” said a United media relations in a statement to Yahoo News. ” We cannot stress enough that we remain steadfast in our commitment to make this right. This horrible situation has provided a harsh learning experience from which we will take immediate, concrete action. We have committed to our customers and our employees that we are going to fix what’s broken so this never happens again.”
