Trump Towers Suddenly Evacuated Over Bomb Scare

An unattended backpack made people evacuate the Trump Tower on Tuesday, only for investigators to later uncover that the bag merely contained children’s toys.

People scrambled through the lobby towards exits. According to Andy Martin, a 16-year old who was in Manhattan with family, “We were evacuated very quickly. It was hysteria. Police were shouting and telling people to leave.”

The bomb squad checked out the package and said it was “all clear” shortly after 5 p.m.

President-elect Donald Trump was at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida during the incident.
