This is the Injury that Left LeBron James Indefinitely Out for the Los Angeles Lakers

Fans were saddened to learn that Los Angeles Lakers forward Lebron James is indefinitely out for the season after spraining his ankle in a game this past weekend.

The 36-year old NBA player suffered a high right ankle sprain during a defeated match against the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday.

Rolling under player Solomon Hill during the second quarter, James ended up on the floor clutching his ankle. Hill had been called for a foul as he reached for a steal.

“A guy dove for a loose ball, took his leg out from up under him,” teammate Montrezl Harrell said. “I really don’t feel like it was one of those loose-ball plays. He had to go through his leg to get the ball, man. He was turned sideways. The ball was behind him. I mean, you’re jumping at an angle, going across this way, I mean, I don’t know how you feel that’s a loose ball.”
Dennis Schroder concurred and said, “That’s an unnecessary play to dive in the leg like that.”

Hill later tweeted, “would never disrespect the game and take a player out purposely… he knows that. that’s all that matters to me. praying for a speedy recovery.”

Though James tried to power through the rest of the game, even hitting a corner 3-pointer that extended his NBA-record streak of games with at least 10 points to 1,036, he then called a timeout and left the court shortly afterward. The Lakers said later in the night that he would be out indefinitely.

The Lakers have already been playing without player Anthony Davis who missed 14 straight games after a right calf injury.

“Nothing angers and saddens me more than not being available to and for my teammates!” James tweeted later on Saturday. “I’m hurt inside and out right now. The road back from recovery begins now. Back soon like I never left.”

“I haven’t necessarily seen him scream and squall like that, probably ever, not even with that groin,” remarked Kyle Kuzma. Kuzma was with the Lakers when James missed 17 games with a groin injury two seasons ago. “It had to hurt a little bit, for sure.”

“The mood of the team is we’re disappointed we lost, and we’ve got to come back and get one tomorrow,” Lakers coach Frank Vogel commented. “I won’t disclose what LeBron was like (in the locker room). It’s in-house.”

Hawks coach Nate McMillan remarked, “That was the first thing I told the guys: We can’t relax because LeBron is out of the game. We have to keep up the pressure, and I thought our guys did that.”
