This is How Much Americans Are Spending on Beer this Fourth of July
$1 billion. That’s how much Americans will be spending on beer this Independence Day, one of the top drinking holidays of the year.
This is according to a report from the National Retail Federation (NRF) who has also found that this holiday Americans will spend $6.7 billion on cookouts and other celebrations. That’s a lot of hamburgers and hotdogs.
It seems the patriotism is in full effect with figures like this. By that figure alone, it comes out to about $73 per person. Surprisingly this number is a decline in recent years though.
On the 243rd anniversary of the adoption of the U.S. Declaration of Independence, 86% of the population plans to celebrate Independence Day this year, primarily by hosting or attending cookouts, barbecues and picnics, the NRF said.
The NRF has found that 41.4 million people are expected to hit the roads to be with family and friends.
To find these numbers, the NRF polled 7,553 adults between June 2 and June 12, 2019.
