Sandra Bullock stars in the new film Bird Box on Netflix, and she really brought the viewers in.

According to Netflix, the movie had the strongest opening week of any original film on the platform to date. There could be easily higher than the 45 million accounts who have watched “Bird Box” already.

With this many viewers, the film is now in the same ballpark as the lifetime theater ticket sales of some “Harry Potter” movies, “The Fugitive” and “Frozen,” according to data used from IMDb.

The description of “Bird Box” is: When a mysterious force decimates the population, only one thing is certain — if you see it, you die. The survivors must now avoid coming face to face with an entity that takes the form of their worst fears. Searching for hope and a new beginning, a woman and her children embark on a dangerous journey through the woods and down a river to find the one place that may offer sanctuary. To make it, they’ll have to cover their eyes from the evil that chases them — and complete the trip blindfolded.

The sci-fi thriller stars Sandra Bullock, whose character has survived a mysterious apocalypse with her two children. They journey to seek a new beginning, blindfolded, to avoid the same fate as most of the population.
