Ten Dead in Texas High School Shooting
Another deadly high school shooting has happened and this time in the Houston area of Texas.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott has confirmed to reporters that ten people have died after a shooting took place at Santa Fe High School. Abbot also said that over ten people are wounded.
Several law enforcement officials also said that nine students and one teacher had died in the shooting to NBC News.
One suspect is in custody and another individual has been detained who is a person of interest. Galveston County Sheriff Henry Trochesset says the suspect, 17-year-old Dimitrios Pagourtzis, has been charged with capital murder.
Abbott said the shooting “one of the most heinous attacks that we’ve ever seen in the history of Texas schools.”
He also said that “unlike Parkland, unlike Sutherland Springs, there were not those types of warning signs.”
According to the Governor, “the red-flag warnings were either non-existent, or very imperceptible.”
