It’s getting scarier and scarier just to leave our homes. A mass shooting has been reported at a shopping centre in Munich, Germany on Friday.

Police responded to an incident at the OEZ Munich Olympia Shopping-Centre, in the northern part of Munich. The centre is not far from the city’s Olympic Stadium in the Moosach district of the Bavarian capital.

Gunfire rang out Friday evening at about 6 p.m. local time and according to police spokeswoman Claudia Kvenzel, is over.

Munich police had earlier updated their Twitter and said the “situation is still unclear.” The police have urged people to avoid public places. A police spokesman had said, “We estimate numerous casualties.”

Facebook has activated its Safety Check feature following the shooting.

The Associated Press reported that the shooter is still at large.
