Mexico Gets Hit By Biggest Earthquake in a Century

A huge earthquake with a magnitude of 8.1 has hit Mexico this week

It is one of the most powerful earthquakes to hit the country in a century and has killed dozen of people.

According to the National Emergency Committee, as of Friday evening 58 people had died in the earthquake.

The states that were hit the hardest were Chiapas and Oaxaca.

Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto said there had been at least 62 aftershocks.

At least 45 people were killed in Oaxaca state, according to Civil Protection National Coordinator Luis Felipe Puente said on Twitter. Ten others died in Chiapas state and three were killed in Tabasco, said Puente.
