This Man Is Now The World’s Second Richest Person

For the longest time, Warren Buffet has been known as the world’s second richest person. The first man on the list, who claims the number one spot every year, is Bill Gates with a net worth of $86 billion.

So who is the man who has so much money that he is now the second most wealthiest person on this planet?

It’s no other than Jeff Bezos.

The CEO of Amazon.com, the online retail powerhouse that has been on a rocket in the last year.

Amazon shares have soared 50% in the past 12 months which have added more to Jeff Bezos’ net worth. He is the largest shareholder in the company and was the founder.

Amazon’s bull run so far this year is what contributed a massive $10.2bn increase to Bezos’ net worth this year.
Bezos is now worth an astonishing $75.6 billion, according to Bloomberg.

In comparison, Berkshire Hathaway CEO Warren Buffet is worth $75.5 billion and Amancio Ortega, chairman of Inditex fashion group (the retail empire that owns Zara) is worth $74.1 billion.

Bloomberg’s billionaire index list also includes Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison.

The highest ranking woman on the list is Liliane Bettencourt, a French socialite who is a major shareholder in cosmetics company L’Oreal. She is in the fourteenth sport with a net worth of $38.3 billion.

The year is not even at the half way mark which means Bezos’ could see his net worth grow even more.

His company has been having solid quarters and crushing numbers largely in part to Amazon Web Services and Amazon Prime.

One analyst even believes Amazon could be worth $1 trillion one day.
