Issues Were Reported Worldwide for Facebook, Instagram, and Whatsapp
Facebook wasn’t have a technically friendly day on Wednesday, as users of the social media site as well as users of its apps Instagram and Whatsapp reported issues loading them.
The news came from Downdetector and Facebook confirmed the issues but did not give a reason for the outage.
Users had issues logging in and posting on the platforms.
Facebook tweeted, “We’re aware that some people are currently having trouble accessing the Facebook family of apps. We’re working to resolve the issue as soon as possible.”
The company did confirm that the issues were not a result of a DDoS attack, or a Distributed Denial-of-Service attack where a hacker overwhelms a site by flooding it with fake traffic.
Facebook also tweeted, “We’re aware that some people are currently having trouble accessing the Facebook family of apps. We’re working to resolve the issue as soon as possible.”
“Today is the technical difficulties day for Facebook, I guess,”, said Paresh Rajwat, the head of Video Products at Facebook. He made the joke when his presentation’s video failed to include audio. Rajwat was announcing new features for Facebook’s Watch video service.
