Honda is Recalling Over 230,000 Vehicles for This Reason

Automaker Honda is recalling 232,000 2018 Accord vehicles as well as 2019 Insight hybrid cards in the United States.

The recall is due to a malfunctioning software problem for the rear camera display. Honda said that apart from the U.S. recall, Honda is recalling 14,000 vehicles in Canada, more than 6,000 vehicles in Germany and nearly 3,000 in South Korea for the same problem.

The rear camera display is not showing the images properly when the driver shifts into rear. The software will be updated free of charge.

A spokeswoman named Tomoko Takemori said on Friday that there have been no reports of any accidents or injuries.

The problem had been discovered after owners complained, and the automaker said it worked with its supplier to track down the problem.

All vehicles that are sold in the U.S., and were built after May 1, 2018, are required to have a camera built in.
