GoPro CEO Nick Woodman Is Defending His Company
Nick Woodman is chief executive at GoPro and he’s not thrilled about all the naysayers criticizing his company in recent years.
Woodman was on CNCB in an interview and defended the company he started. He said, “We feel good about the second quarter, and we think that things are tracking just as we shared on our earnings call, and we’re really happy with the turnaround that we’re seeing in our business,” Woodman told CNBC on Tuesday.
“Customers are using our products more than ever here, and Hero 5 is doing really well — which is boding well for the second quarter,” he continued.
According to Woodman, the Hero 5 line of products is seeing stronger demand than the previous generation Hero 4 line and the demand is coming from existing and new customers in both North America an across the seas.
In April, GoPro released first quarter results and although the camera maker’s revenue was better than expected, it didn’t ship as many products as the Street had expected.
Looking ahead though, Woodman said, “Customers are using our products more than ever here, and Hero 5 is doing really well — which is boding well for the second quarter.”
