Game of Thrones Season 7 May Be Delayed
While the final episode of Season 6 just aired recently, fans are already waiting for Season 7. They may not like learning that there will be a delay though. The reason for the delay: the weather.
With the exception of Season 3, HBO has traditionally aired each season in April. According to show runners David Benioff and Dan Weiss, filming for the coming season will likely be delayed because winter hasn’t arrived in most of the show’s filming locations around Europe.
“We don’t have an air date yet, but this year will likely be a bit later.” The pair said on the UFC Unfiltered podcast.
“We’re starting a bit later because, you know, the end of this season, winter is here, and that means sunny weather doesn’t serve our purposes anymore, so we pushed back everything down the line to get some grim, grey weather, even in the sunnier places that we shoot.”
Both Benioff and Weiss have predicted only thirteen episodes remaining between the final two seasons.
