Elon Musk Tweets He May Have Coronavirus as SpaceX Launches 2nd Crew

This past weekend Tesla CEO Elon Musk revealed that he “most likely” has a moderate case of the coronavirus.

The electric vehicle maker’s chief executive however is questioning the accuracy of tests. He took to Twitter on Saturday and wrote, “Am getting wildly different results from different labs, but most likely I have a moderate case of covid. My symptoms are that of a minor cold, which is no surprise, since a coronavirus is a type of cold.”

When questioned about the symptoms, Musk wrote, “A little up & down. Feels just like a regular cold, but more body achy & cloudy head than coughing/sneezing.”

Musk did not mention whether his test results were from polymerase chain reaction tests, which are more accurate than rapid tests.

Despite a possible coronavirus diagnosis, Musk made his presence at the weekend launch of four NASA astronauts into orbit aboard his SpaceX company’s spacecraft.

SpaceX launched four astronauts to the International Space Station on Sunday on the first full-fledged taxi flight for NASA by a private company.

The mission had moved from Saturday to Sunday evening due to forecasts for gusty, onshore winds over Florida, officials for the U.S. space agency said last Friday.

According to an Associated Press report, the Falcon rocket took off from Kennedy Space Center with three Americans and one Japanese. This is the second crew to be launched by SpaceX.

The Dragon capsule on top named Resilience reached orbit nine minutes later. It was due to reach the space station late Monday and remain there until spring.

“By working together through these difficult times, you’ve inspired the nation, the world, and in no small part the name of this incredible vehicle, Resilience,” Commander Mike Hopkins remarked right before liftoff.

Vice President Mike Pence, chairman of the National Space Council, joined NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine to watch the launch.

“I didn’t start breathing until about a minute after it took off,” Pence said.
