Elon Musk Has Officially Been Given a Weird Title at Tesla
Elon Musk is the chief executive officer of electric vehicle giant Tesla but now he’s also been oficially been named the “Technoking” of the company.
Zach Kirkhorn, the company’s chief financial officer, has also been made “Master of Coin.”
Mr. Kirkhorn’s new title shares with a character from the fantasy world of the HBO show “Game of Thrones.”
The regulatory filing with the SEC, that reveals the two new roles for the men was released on Monday and states “Effective as of March 15, 2021, the titles of Elon Musk and Zach Kirkhorn have changed to Technoking of Tesla and Master of Coin, respectively.”
It’s unclear what has prompted the new titles.
It was in February that Tesla disclosed that it had purchased a staggering $1.5 billion worth of bitcoin.
Neither Mr Musk or Mr Kirkhorn have elaborated on the meanings of the new titles.
The filing comes just days after an investor of the company sued Musk and Tesla over a series of “erratic” and “unlawful” tweets.
Chase Gharrity’s lawyers havr accused Mr Musk of issuing false statements about Tesla’s finances to his tens of millions of followers.
It was last May that Musk re-tweeted that Tesla’s stock value was “too high.” Tesla’s market value had then fallen by $13bn at the time.
Recently the Washington Post has also reported that Tesla’s plant in Fremont California had 450 cases of coronavirus after re-opening in May of 2020.
