eBay Has Stopped its Employee Shuttle Service
What was a convenience in Silicon Valley for its employees is now a thing of the past after eBay announced that it has ended its employee shuttle service in the San Francisco Bay area.
The service, which transported employees from around the San Francisco Bay Area to the company’s offices, was discontinued in January.
According to a source close to the company, the shuttle wasn’t being used enough by eBay’s employees to justify the cost.
The source said that the majority of eBay’s shuttle service operated between San Francisco (the North Bay) and San Jose (the South Bay), where the company already has two offices.
eBay saw its shares rise 8% on Tuesday after Wall Street learned that the Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), which owns the New York Stock Exchange, made a bid to acquire eBay’s marketplace business.
ICE later said that “eBay has not engaged in a meaningful way.”
