Dylann Roof Is Convicted Of Racist Church Slaughter
Dylann Roof, the 22 year-old who went on a shooting rampage in a South Carolina church, was convicted on Thursday and found guilty of all 33 counts after a 7 day trial.
The jury will reconvene next month to hear more testimony and decide if Roof will get the death sentence.
In his confession to the FBI, Roof said he chose Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal church because it posed little danger to him. He also told agents he wanted to bring back segregation or start a race war.
Fortunately the only thing that happened after his crime was that the Confederate flag was removed from the South Carolina Statehouse, where it had flown for 50 years over the Capitol or on the grounds.
