Disney is Reportedly Ditching the “Fox” Name from Branding
As reported in Variety, Disney is removing one key word from its acquired 21st Century Fox assets.
That word would be “Fox.”
The company is reportedly removing the Fox name from its branding, emails, and logos. 20th Century Fox will become 20th Century Studios and Fox Searchlight Pictures will be shorted to Searchlight Pictures.
Disney has also started phasing out the Fox name from company email addresses and several posters for upcoming features.
No decision has reportedly been made yet about renaming 20th Century Fox Television and Fox 21 Television Studios.
It looks like Disney does not want its newly acquired brand to be associated with the previous owners. It was last April that the company closed its $71 billion acquisition.
