Coca-Cola is Launching its First Biggest Drink in a Decade
Coca-Cola announced this week that it is going to be launching a new seltzer brand dubbed “AHA” next year.
The new beverage, which the company claims is its biggest new product release in a decade, is set to be released in March of 2020.
AHA will be available in eight flavors, including two with 30 mg of caffeine. They are Citrus Green Tea and Black Cherry + Coffee. AHA will also be replacing Coke’s Dasani sparkling water.
“As the largest and fastest growing part of the category, mainstream flavored sparkling water is a segment we know we must double-down on,” said Celina Li, the vice president of water category at Coca-Cola North America. “AHA is our big-bet brand in this big-bet category.”
“Sparkling water has had another very big year, and we are well-positioned to increase our presence in the category in a big, bold way,” Li said in a release.
Coke also said that it will be introducing new still water flavors to its Smartwater line next year.
Sales of Coke’s water business have been flat this year, according to data from Nielsen so this may be a much needed shake up.
AHA comes in eight mixed flavors, including lime and watermelon, citrus and green tea and apple and ginger. The beverages are calorie-free and sugar-free. They will be sold individually and in multi-packs.
