Chick-Fil-A Considers Adding Vegan Entree to Menu

Vegetarians are more than likely celebrating that more companies are wanting to go meatless nowadays.
The latest company to think vega is Chil-fil-A.

The company is thinking about adding a vegan entree to its menu, something the meny has not had.

Tyson Foods is expected to launch meatless products this summer while fast food joints like Burger King, Chipotle, and Taco Bell already offer meatless entrees.

According to Business Insider, Chik-Fil-A is in “the early stages of understanding” a possible menu addition.
McDonald’s recently made its own announcement about going meatless.

“I certainly know our teams are paying close attention and discussing this amongst each other and with some of the options that are out there,” McDonald’s CEO Steve Easterbrook told analysts on the first-quarter conference call. “So maybe more to come but nothing much to say about it at the moment.”

Recently Beyond Meat made its IPO in the market and have soared nearly 175% this month. Impossible Foods just announced this week that it has raised an additional $300 million in funding.

“We’re definitely aware, and I would say we’re always interested in, what’s happening in food,” Chick-fil-A menu executive director Amanda Norris told Insider. “Specifically … a vegetarian option or a vegan option is something we’re looking at, we’re thinking about, and have some [research and development].”

She also said, “I think it goes back to how far will our customers want us to go,” but it’s likely the chain will go beyond meatless salads and wraps, perhaps toward “some kind of alternative protein on a sandwich.”
