CBS Just Fired An Executive For Hurtful Facebook Comments About the Vegas Shooting

The tragic event that just unfolded in Las Vegas, was like President Trump said, an “act of pure evil.”

The fact that one executive felt the need to post on her Facebook that the victims gained no sympathy from her as they most likely were Republican was tactless and just cruel.

CBS Corp. took immediate action in firing a vice president in business affairs on Monday after she made hurtful comments on her Facebook page.

Hayley Geftman-Gold wrote that she was not sympathetic to the victims because most country fans are Republicans.

She wrote, “If they wouldn’t do anything when children were murdered I have no hope that Repugs will ever do the right thing. I’m actually not even sympathetic bc country music fans often are Republican gun toters.”

Despite deleting her comments, they were still picked up by some right-wing websites and blogs and a petition was posted asking for her firing.

A CBS spokesperson confirmed that they fired the executive.

“This individual, who was with us for approximately one year, violated the standards of our company and is no longer an employee of CBS. Her views as expressed on social media are deeply unacceptable to all of us at CBS. Our hearts go out to the victims in Las Vegas and their families,” CBS stated.
