Apple Announces Big Event for November 10th Where Company Will Reveal This
Tech giant Apple has announced an event for November 10th that is expected to reveal new Macs with Apple chips.
The iPhone maker announced the event on Monday, where it’s expected to reveal new Macs powered by ARM processors. It was earlier in the year that the company has said that it planned to also release Mac computers with its own chips based on ARM.
The company’s iPhones and iPads have long used Apple-designed processors, which the company says helps extend battery life and provide faster performance.
The launch event will begin at 10 a.m. PT on the 10th and will be livestreamed on Apple’s website. The tagline on the invites on Monday read “One More Thing.” Apple said the event will take place at its headquarters, Apple Park.
A research note from TF Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo read earlier this year that Apple could launch a iMac desktop with a new design and laptops using Apple chips.
According to Bloomberg, with sources listed as “people familiar with the matter, ” the event will see Apple introduce three new Macs with Apple Silicon processors, including a 13-inch MacBook Pro, a 16-inch MacBook Pro, and a 13-inch MacBook Air.
Rumors say Apple is working on redesigned versions of the MacBook Pro that will come in 14.1 and 16.1-inch sizes with mini-LED displays, but those machines will not be ready until 2021. The new Macs will have 5-nanometer chips that are based on the A14 in the iPhone 12 models.
Apple plans to transition the entire Mac lineup to Apple Silicon, but the process will take around two years.
