Amazon Plans on Pop-up Shops in Whole Foods Stores this Holiday Season

One of the biggest news announcements of 2017 was Amazon acquiring Whole Foods, the organic retail grocery chain. The e-commerce giant completed the transaction back in August.

Amazon announced this week that in select Whole Foods locations, it will be popping up branded stores for the holidays.

The shops, which will launch in the middle of this month, will be at stores in Michigan, Florida, California, Illinois, and Colorado.

At the shops, shoppers will be given the opportunity to try out devices from Amazon before buying them, and will also be able to learn about the company’s services and Prime memberships.

In its announcement, Amazon said that over 100 Whole Foods stores already carry Amazon devices including the Echo, Echo Dot, Fire TV, Kindle e-readers and Fire tablets.

To get ready for this holiday season, Whole Foods will also be offering Black Friday deals on Amazon products right before Thanksgiving. Deals will be given that week leading up to the holiday that include $20 off of the Echo Dot, $20 off of the newest Amazon Echo, and $30 off of the new Echo Plus. Also customers can get $30 off of the Fire HD 8 Tablet.
