All Apple Stores Are Finally Open Again in the U.S.

It took many months to get here but finally tech giant Apple’s stores are all open across the U.S.

All of Apple’s 270 stores in the United States are open for business as of Monday this week, marking the first time that all stores have been open since the iPhone maker began to close them last spring due to the coronavirus.

It was on March 13th that Apple had announced it was closing all of its stores outside of China. The original closures were meant to go on until March 27th but lockdowns would stretch these closings for many more months.

U.S. locations in Texas had been the last stores closed and were re-opened on Monday to mark a milestone for the company as the U.S. emerges from COVID-19 lockdowns.

An Apple spokesperson confirmed the news on Monday and 9to5Mac was the first to report the openings.

Now customers in the U.S. will be able to go inside and browse however, not every store will allow this. Customers should first check Apple’s website to make sure their store allows walk-ins or if they are by appointment only or limited in other ways.

During Covid-19, Apple experimented with new store services, including appointment-only service or shopping, and an “express pickup” option that allows customers to get in and out quickly. Apple also started to require masks in stores and implemented health and safety guidelines that included reduced occupancy.

Apple CEO Tim Cook recently remarked that the company’s holiday quarter could have been even bigger if its physical stores had been open.

Some Apple stores are still closed in France and Brazil.
