Robinhood Just Offered Something Amazing to Many of its Employees

With Covid-19 still ongoing and the Omicron variant cases surging, stock trading app Robinhood has announced some very good news this week.

The company has said that it will offer permanent remote working to most of its employees.

Robinhood will allow most of its 3,400 person workforce work remotely on a permanent basis.

“Our teams have done amazing work and built a strong workplace community during these uncertain and challenging times, and we’re excited to continue to offer them the flexibility they’ve asked for by staying primarily remote,” Robinhood said in a blog post.

The plans were announced previously Robinhood employees in December.

Robinhood, who considers itself a technology company, also added in the post that the company is building out its technological capabilities to support this change.

The firm is additionally creating programs to address the challenges that work-for-home poses for certain underrepresented groups.

In the post Robinhood wrote, “With our primarily remote approach, we provide employees with the flexibility they need to work where they are most comfortable and productive whenever we can. For a large segment of our employees, there will be no location or regular in-office requirement, and teams will come together in-person occasionally for key experiences and moments that drive connection and innovation. Some teams will need to live within a commutable distance to an office location due to regulatory and business reasons, and a small segment will still need to come into the office.”

It further read, “All employees will have access to our offices located across the country with Safety First protocols in place. As we move forward, we’re committed to continue learning, listening and creating a flexible, accessible and great workplace for everyone. ”

In recent months Robinhood shares have shed value considerably since its IPO price of $38. Shares now trade around $16.
