Oracle Just Did This Against Rival Salesforce
It was announced on Monday that Oracle is hiring another 5,000 employees for its cloud software business.
It is the company’s fastest growing business and saw a 58% growth in the last quarter that was reported on June 21st.
Oracle and its main rival Salesforce have been no stranger to competing for the cloud market. Just last week Salesforce’s CEO Marc Benioff said he was on track to generate $10 billion in cloud revenue this year.
Many other companies are also ramping up cloud effort with Amazon saying it will hire 100,000 workers by net year and Apple saying it will invest $1 billion into advanced U.S manufacturing.
Oracle also has said it would hire more than 100,000 workers just by next year. That announcement was made in July.
