These computers conduct calculations far more quickly than modern conventional computers thanks to a characteristic of quantum physics. However, the possible drawback of quantum computing is that it may jeopardize the security of data and information systems, especially those under federal government authority. Quantum computers, for example, might be able to crack popular encryption techniques used by people, government organizations, and critical infrastructure organizations. Everything is exposed, including: • National defense and government communications; • Cryptocurrency networks with a market capitalization of $3.4 trillion; • Banking systems safeguarding trillions of transactions; • Email communications for 730 million business accounts globally; • AI systems managing sensitive data and proprietary models The danger is therefore quite real.
