Sanofi Responds to Roseanne’s Ambien Tweet with Epic Response
Sanofi, the maker of Ambien, wasn’t taking things sitting down when Roseanne Barr blamed her racist Twitter remark on the sleeping drug.
Barr has been facing the consequences of her racial tweet over a former Obama aid Valerie Jarrett, which included having her hit show Roseanne axed from ABC and all of her co-workers losing their jobs.
She tweeted, “Guys I did something unforgiveable so do not defend me. It was 2 in the morning and I was ambien tweeting.”
Sanofi spokeswoman Ashleigh Koss said in a written statement, “While all pharmaceutical treatments have side effects, racism is not a known side effect of any Sanofi medication.”
Sanofi tweeted, “People of all races, religions and nationalities work at Sanofi every day to improve the lives of people around the world. While all pharmaceutical treatments have side effects, racism is not a known side effect of any Sanofi medication.”
President Trump has broken his silence on the controversy of Roseanne’s show being cancelled after her remarks, and tweeted, “Bob Iger of ABC called Valerie Jarrett to let her know that ‘ABC does not tolerate comments like those’ made by Roseanne Barr. Gee, he never called President Donald J. Trump to apologize for the HORRIBLE statements made and said about me on ABC. Maybe I just didn’t get the call?”
