Apple to Announce Many New Things at its Annual Event Tomorrow

The highly anticipated Apple iPhone launch event is on Tuesday and there are a lot of new items that may be announced, including iPhones, watches, and airpods.

While the tech giant hasn’t commented on what it plans to release, analysts and reports have been buzzing over what could be appearing at the event.

The fall launches are a big part of the company’s success as they garner media attention across the world. They also set the stage for the holiday season when Apple’s sales end up being the highest.

Due to the pandemic, Apple revealed its new watches in September of last year and then followed with an October iPhone 12 event. The iPhone 12 introduced an all-new design and 5G.

New iPads and MacBooks Pro laptops are due for an update this fall.

The iPhone is one of the main products of the company’s line and accounted for half of the company’s sales in 2020. Up until last year, the company was announcing a new iPhone model every September.

Last October, Apple released four iPhone models which were the $599 iPhone 12 mini, the $829 iPhone 12, the higher-end $999 iPhone 12 Pro and the $1,099 iPhone 12 Pro Max. All of the iPhone 12s came with 5G connectivity and a new, more squared-off design.

According to research from TF Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, a leading Apple analyst, this year’s line up could be similar with the same screen sizes and prices.

The analyst suggests the big change this year could be a smaller notch cutout at the top of the iPhone’s screen, which holds the device’s facial recognition cameras.

The new iPhones could also have bigger batteries and a slightly heavier weight thanks to a new internal-space-saving design, said Kuo. The analyst also thinks the new iPhones will come with camera and processor upgrades.

Apple has also released new Apple Watch models every September since 2016. Kuo predicted last year that the 2021 models would be a “significant form factor design change.”

In a note to investors over the weekend, Kuo also said that Apple will launch a new AirPods 3. He said Apple may continue to sell the current AirPods at a lower price.

Apple will be holding its “California streaming” event at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time on September 14th.
